“The Case That Disappeared Itself”

Posted by Travis E. Tapps

You ever hear of Case No. 4983-K?

No? That’s funny.

Because it involved:

  • An off-duty officer at a cartel-owned nightclub

  • An encrypted burner phone with six digits matching a city payroll account

  • A female witness who “accidentally overdosed” two days before deposition

And yet — when I searched for the case in the DOJ system last week…
Nothing. No docket. No clerk assignment. Just a ghost.

If justice leaves no fingerprints, who’s really in control?
