“Justice in the Streets — And in the Squad Cars”

They say law and order begins at the top. But what happens when the badge is used not as a shield of protection, but as a weapon of fear?

Earlier this month, I initiated an internal affairs investigation into an incident near Legion Square involving multiple officers, a firearm discharge, and two injured civilians — one of whom was never even issued a citation. No warrant, no paperwork, no explanation.

Let me be clear: no one is above the law, especially not those sworn to uphold it.

You’ll see transparency, accountability, and where necessary — charges. As long as I’m DA, this city will not trade justice for silence.
